In rural India, WOMEN

are often the last to be

Eliminating blindness by empowering women

Why Women Empowerment?

In a patriarchal society like Bihar, stigma and prejudice are nothing out of the ordinary for women. Women are often the least likely to find their own footing in society and are frequently expected to take on the role of caregivers, thereby having little to no voice of their own. Their ambitions? Overshadowed. Their future? Always uncertain and dependent on others.

But Akhand Jyoti stands firm to change this reality for these women. We give underprivileged rural girls a chance, a chance that allows them to get educated, upskilled, stand on their own feet.

The Reality Is Stark, but Change Is Within Reach

Behind every statistic is A GIRL WAITING FOR A CHANCE.

Women Literacy
0%of women in Bihar aged between 15 to 49 years are illiterate.
But when girls receive education, they gain the confidence to shape their own futures.
Child Marriage
0%of women aged 20-24 years got married before attaining the legal minimum age of 18 years.
But when girls are given education and opportunity, they delay marriages, choose healthier lives, and meaningful careers
Labour Disparity
0%of women in Bihar are part of the workforce, one of the lowest participation rates in the country in 2023 to 24.
But when women earn, they uplift families, strengthen communities, and break poverty cycles.
Violence against Women
0%of ever-married women in Bihar aged between 18 to 49 years have experienced physical or sexual violence.
But empowered girls become community role models who shift mindsets and drive long-term change.
