In Bihar, eye care remains out of reach for many families struggling to meet daily needs. Cataract alone accounts for 83% of blindness in the state, while an extremely low cataract surgical coverage rate leaves more than half the population without access to surgery.
Akhand Jyoti responds by placing Vision Centres in the areas affected most by this gap. These centres become the first point of care for communities long denied timely treatment.
People identified through outreach camps are guided here for diagnosis and spectacles, while every post surgery follow up continues at the Vision Centre. What emerges is a dependable, local lifeline that protects sight early and sustains care close to home.
