Life changes when sight begins to fade. In rural Bihar and other low-income regions, blindness quickly disrupts work, learning, and family life. Yet most blindness is curable when care arrives on time.
Akhand Jyoti's Blindness Elimination programme takes eye care to the last mile. By training girls as optometrists and community leaders, we build a frontline that finds vision loss early and acts before it becomes permanent. From door-to-door screenings to children’s eye checks, we guide patients to timely treatment. When sight is restored, people return to work, dignity, and the confidence to shape their own future.
We use a COMMUNITY ROOTED eye care model that reaches people at every level, bringing WORLD CLASS eye health services directly to the GRASSROOTS
