To end
To end BLINDNESS and
EMPOWER WOMEN
for lasting change
Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital is a non-profit organisation based in Bihar, working at the intersection of eye health and women empowerment.
We restore sight to those living with curable blindness — especially in the poorest and most remote parts of India.
At the same time, we uplift rural girls by training them to become skilled eye care professionals.
Because when we help someone see again — and help a girl rise — we transform entire communities.

Why We Do What We Do
Bihar is home to over 10 million people living with vision loss.
80% of this is curable — but care is far away or unaffordable.
Blindness affects not just the person, but the entire family.
Girls in these areas face even more social and economic barriers

Vision 2030
By 2030, Akhand Jyoti aims to:
Eye screening and primary eye care
Girls to be trained as Orthometrists
Sight-restoring surgeries for the blind
Akhand Jyoti’s Foundational Pillars
Eye Health First
We focus on curable blindness with skilled teams and safe surgeries.
Women Empowerment
We train rural girls as optometrists, combining care with opportunity.
Rural Reach
We go where others don't — small towns, remote villages, and door-to-door screenings.
Count On Us To Make The Change
Through our two interconnected pillars, we create lasting change in rural communities.

Primary Eyecare
Eradicating curable blindness in low-income Indian states

Empowering women
Girls with dreams become women with vision
